Moises Caicedo is keen on leaving Brighton and Hove Albion for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, according to a report.

The Times has reported that Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo is “desperate to join Chelsea” in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Chelsea’s third bid of £80 million for Caicedo has been turned down by the Seagulls.

Brighton remain adamant about getting £100 million in transfer fees for Caicedo, who was described as “magnificent” by former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports Premier League (13/11/22 at 1:45 pm).

The Times has added that Caicedo “has hoped a deal would have been agreed by now”.

Chelsea should pay £100m for Moises Caicedo

In our opinion, if £100 million is what Brighton and Hove Albion are looking for to sell Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window, then Chelsea should just pay it now.

There is no point in Chelsea making bids after bids that are below Brighton’s asking price.

The Seagulls have made it abundantly clear that they will not sell Caicedo for anything less than £100 million.

If the midfielder himself is keen on a move to Chelsea, then the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners should cough up the transfer fee needed and get a deal done now.

After all, the new Premier League season will start soon.

Pre-season training is already in full swing.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino will surely appreciate having all of his players ready in pre-season.

Caicedo made 34 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Brighton last season.

The 21-year-old scored one goal and gave one assist in those games.

Chelsea would be a better team with Caicedo in it.

The Blues will be determined to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season.
