Tottenham Hotspur supporters must be envious over seeing Kieran Trippier for Newcastle United right now.
Newcastle are third in the Premier League standings and one point above Spurs.
And the former Tottenham right-back has undeniably played a major role in that.
Trippier, who was sold by the Lilywhites to Atletico Madrid in 2019, has played in all 14 of the Magpies’ Premier League outings thus far this season.
And Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that he’s the finest in the whole division, in his position.

He said: “He’s a magnificent professional and a great player. He’s the best right-back in the country at the moment, especially with no Reece James.”
The reason why Tottenham supporters might be slightly frustrated is because, well, he’s much better than Emerson Royal.
Whether it’s him, Matt Doherty or Serge Aurier, Trippier is comfortably better than all three of them and you wonder how much better Antonio Conte’s side would be if they had the former Burnley star.
He also won a Primera Division title over in Spain with Atletico, underlining what a good player he is and Wright is probably correct in saying that nobody is performing better than him this season.
