Alan Shearer has raved about Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope on Twitter for his performance against Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon.
Newcastle have played out a goalless draw with Brighton away from home in the Premier League this afternoon.
Pope, signed from Burnley in the summer transfer window for £10 million (Sky Sports), was in goal for the Magpies.
And Newcastle legend and Match of the Day pundit Shearer was impressed, as you can see from his tweet below.
Alan Shearer praises Nick Pope for Newcastle v Brighton

Very good performance
In our opinion, Nick Pope was brilliant for Newcastle United against Brighton and Hove Albion and was arguably the best player for the Magpies.
It was Pope’s second competitive appearance for the Magpies, and he showed why Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe signed him.
Pope was particularly brilliant in the second half, as he made some brilliant saves.
Newcastle will be disappointed at the final result and at the fact that they could not score.
But they will be pleased to see Pope turn on the style between the posts and prove the recruitment team right.
