Pat Nevin has praised Chelsea fans on BBC Sport for giving Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Diego Costa “a huge applause” at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
The former Chelsea star believes that it was a “magical” moment, as the Chelsea fans applauded Costa off the pitch.
Nevin, though, has noted that Costa failed to do much of note for Wolves, who lost 3-0 to Chelsea.
The 34-year-old Spanish striker started for Wolves against his former club Chelsea.
Costa won the Premier League title twice during his tie with the Blues.
The former Atletico Madrid joined Wolves last month on a free transfer.

Pat Nevin on Chelsea fans – Diego Costa
Nevin noted: “Costa is getting a huge applause here, if I was a Wolves fan I would be quite miffed.
“But it is a truly magical moment. That is the biggest impact he has that his afternoon, walking off the pitch.”
Need to do better
In our opinion, Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Diego Costa needs to do much better than he did against Chelsea today.
The former Atletico Madrid star did not very sharp in attack.
Now, of course, we have to consider that Wolves are not playing particularly well at the moment, so a striker – Costa in this case – will invariably suffer.
When Wolves get a new manager, we expect the team to get better and Costa to start turning on the style.
