Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back Nelson Semedo has praised his Portugal teammate and reported Arsenal target Ruben Neves on Instagram after the match against Uruguay at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Monday evening.

Semedo has described his Wolves and Portugal teammate Neves – linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, as a “maestro”.

Portugal got the better of Uruguay 2-0 in their second Group H match at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Monday evening.

The European nation had won their opening game at the World Cup 3-2 against Ghana.

Having won their opening two matches in Group H, Portugal have secured their place in the Round of 16.

Neves is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and the Wolves star has done well for Portugal in Qatar.

The 25-year-old, who cost Wolves £15.8 million in transfer fees in 2017 (BBC Sport), is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park and controlled the midfield against Uruguay.

And his Wolves and Portugal international teammate Semedo was impressed, describing him as a “maestro” on his Instagram page.

Sport reported in September that Arsenal are keen on signing the Portugal international midfielder in the summer of 2023 and are ready to compete with Barcelona for his signature.
