Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United reportedly want Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid.

According to The Daily Star, Real Madrid want £80 million as transfer fee for Mateo Kovacic, and that surely rules out both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

With Manchester City interested in Kovacic, as reported by The Daily Star, it was always going to be tough for Tottenham and West Ham to sign the 24-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window, and Madrid’s reported valuation of £80m for the Croatia international pretty much rules out the two London clubs.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham want to sign the former Inter Milan midfielder, while The Telegraph has credited Tottenham with interest in the 24-year-old (click here to read more).

With Madrid reportedly demanding £80m for the midfielder, who helped Croatia to the final of the 2018 World Cup final in Russia this summer, it is hard to see the Hammers or Spurs cough up that much cash.

Tottenham’s record signing is Davinson Sanchez for £42m, as reported by The Guardian, while West Ham just splashed £33.5m on Felipe Anderson, according to the same publication.
