Chelsea supporters were impressed by Caoimhin Kelleher’s performance during their 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Republic of Ireland international was standing in for Alisson Becker yesterday after Liverpool’s number one was out of the game because of COVID.

But whilst Liverpool had such a key figure missing during a huge title tussle, Kelleher ensured that he wasn’t to be missed.

Chelsea fans liked what they saw from the thriving Liverpool star, who has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s most improved players during the past 12 months.

It was a dream start for the Reds because they raced into a two-goal lead, as Chelsea were error-prone at the back.

But Mateo Kovacic pulled a goal back with a quite stunning volley from outside of the area, which Kelleher could do nothing about, before Christian Pulisic levelled the scores just before the break.

There were no goals after that, but it was still an action-packed game in west London and an unhelpful point for both sides in their race to catch leaders Manchester City.

Kelleher wasn’t the only one thriving in between the sticks because his fellow counterpart, Edouard Mendy was equally as outstanding.

If both keepers weren’t in such form, then the scoreline and game could have been a lot crazier.

For both Liverpool and Chelsea, their next stop is the EFL Cup because they are in semi-final action against Arsenal and Tottenham, respectively.
