Ally McCoist has claimed on BT Sport that all is not quite right with Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

The veteran Rangers goalkeeper will miss tomorrow’s Old Firm visit of Celtic through suspension.

McGregor was sent off for a bizarre kick at Hibernian’s Marc McNulty last weekend.

The 37-year-old has had a brilliant first season back at Ibrox for the most part, but he has occasionally made headlines for unsavoury reasons such as this.

And McCoist, speaking to BT Sport‘s Scottish Football Extra show [10/05], admits that he isn’t happy with the Gers star.

“I have no idea what’s going through Allan’s head. There have been signs all throughout the season that all isn’t right with Allan.

“There have been incidents, not as bad as that [kick at McNulty] but there’s been one or two issues where he’s left a trailing leg in or used his body to knock people down. I don’t know. It’s clearly not good enough. But that’s madness and it is indiscipline.”

Wes Foderingham is expected to deputise for his team-mate against Celtic on Sunday.

Rangers already have one loose cannon in the form of Alfredo Morelos, who’s been sent off five times this season.

If he and McGregor wind up staying in Glasgow beyond the summer then it’s imperative that manager Steven Gerrard tells them to buck up their ideas in terms of discipline next term.

Rangers goal keeper Allan McGregor is red carded during the Scottish Premier League match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on May 05, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.
