Leeds United signed the youngster following a spell at Liverpool and he could start against Burnley in the EFL Cup.
Gomes during his time at Liverpool
Leeds United signed so many new players this summer that it would be easy to forget all about Madger Gomes, but the 20-year-old may have the chance to prove his top flight credentials when the Whites take on Burnley in the EFL Cup later this month.
Gomes was previously on the books at Liverpool and he was highly rated at Anfield, modeling his game on Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

While things did not work out on Merseyside, early sightings of Gomes during pre-season suggested Leeds had bagged a bargain, and he has already impressed in the cup against Port Vale and Newport County.
Leeds won those two matches with ease, scoring nine goals in the process, yet they can expect a considerably harder match when they take on Burnley on 19 September.
Having featured in the previous two rounds, Gomes will be hopeful of starting for Leeds against Sean Dyche’s men, and whether he kicks off the match or appears in the second half, he will have the chance to prove he is a long-term option for Thomas Christiansen’s side.

Gomes will have been desperate for Premier League action during his time at Liverpool and, while he has taken a step down for the good of his career, he could be back as early as next season if Leeds maintain their early form and build on an impressive summer transfer window.
A versatile midfielder who can play in the centre or on either flank, Leeds’ new addition has the work rate and the innate skill to make an impact against a Burnley side who recently took Chris Wood from the Whites.
If Gomes plays, expect him to go hell for leather to prove he should be more than just a fringe player, even at this early stage of his career.
