Onana has been an impressive player for Ajax, up until the time of his ban.
And it’s fair to say that Ajax supporters haven’t taken kindly to reports that Arsenal are keen on their goalkeeper.
Good move
If Onana does arrive at Arsenal it seems that he could step straight into their first-team.
The future of Bernd Leno is very uncertain, so it will be imperative that Arsenal get their recruitment right in goal.
The Gunners need a solid foundation to build upon, and Onana could provide them with that.
He has impressed in both Dutch football and the Champions League in recent years.
However, his lack of experience of the English game may be of some concern – as Arsenal will have little time to allow him to bed in, if Leno does depart as expected.
