Ollie McBurnie shared during a Q/A on his Instagram Live that Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk was his toughest opponent.
The 25-year-old used a unique way to describe finding life difficult against the Liverpool hero by claiming that he ‘made me feel like a bit of a little girl’.
Two seasons ago, McBurnie was making a big-money £20 million switch from Swansea City to Sheffield United (BBC Sport).
And whilst it wasn’t goals galore from the Scotland international, he performed well for a team that secured a top-half finish before it all went wrong during this relegation campaign.
But when McBurnie was asked about the best defender he has come up against, he mentioned Van Dijk and Laurent Koscielny.
“Van Dijk made me feel like a bit of a little girl,” said McBurnie. “And then when I was at Swansea, the first time, Laurent Koscielny for Arsenal. I didn’t know what to do.”

Well, McBurnie won’t have to deal with the defensive wall of Van Dijk next season given that he will be tasked in trying to steer Sheffield United back to the Premier League.
Van Dijk, on the other hand, will be aiming to return to action after missing the majority of the 2020/21 campaign through injury.
Everyone could see the havoc Van Dijk’s absence caused on this Liverpool side, but with him fresh and back in contention then they will be charging for that Premier League title once more.
It will be interesting to see who will be paired with the Dutchman because Nat Phillips ended the season very well, Joe Gomez is also due to return, the same with Joel Matip, whilst the club have also secured the signature of Ibrahima Konate this summer.
