Speaking on BT Sport (1/10/22 2:30PM), Cesc Fabregas has been lauding William Saliba after Arsenal’s victory in the north London derby.
The Gunners won 3-1 against their bitter rivals in what was a complete and commanding performance from Mikel Arteta’s side.
After scoring three goals and dominating the game, Arsenal’s defence in midfield will surely receive a lot of praise, but Fabregas wanted to highlight one exceptional performance from a defender, singling out William Saliba as a standout performer.

Fabregas praises Saliba
The former Arsenal captain had nothing but good things to say about the centre-back.
“It was a fantastic complete performance. I would like to mention one special name that nobody really spoke about. He was so good and he made it look so easy. William Saliba. This boy has been in France for the last three years on loan and I’ve been watching closely because an ex-Arsenal scout asked me trhee years ago to look at him because he wanted to sign him. At 18, 19 he was the best player on the pitch. That shows the potential of this guy, and he makes it look so easy, he could potentially be Arsenal’s centre-back for the next 15,20 years,” Fabregas said.
Rolls Royce
Saliba may only have played a handful of Premier League games so far in his career, but he already looks like the real deal.
The Frenchman is wise beyond his years. He reads the game expertly and he’s so composed on the ball.
As Fabregas says, this is a player with huge potential, and while his potential is exciting, even at his current level he’s proving to be one of the very best centre-backs in the Premier League.
Arsenal have an absolute gem on their hands here, that’s for sure.
