Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media following Liverpool’s win over Ajax, and he’s reserved special praise for one player.
As quoted by Liverpool’s official website, the former Borussia Dortmund boss said: ‘Diogo (Jota) is a machine. He can punish opponents in one-on-one situations.’
The former Atletico Madrid attacker was making his Champions League debut in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.
Despite coming on in the 59th minute, Jota still played a big role in helping to see out the win.
The Portugal international had two shots, made one key pass and embarked on three successful dribbles. No player on the pitch apart from David Neres completed more dribbles, according to WhoScored.

These statistics represent a fantastic impact off the bench from Jota, who is settling in nicely following his £41 million move from Wolves.
He is still yet to add to his debut goal against Arsenal, although his displays have been very Liverpool-like and Klopp appears to love how he fits the side.
Jota is terrier-like. His stamina, directness and willingness to press the opposition makes it look like he’s been at Anfield under Klopp for years.

Once he starts to add goals to his game consistently, we could be talking about him being one of Europe’s most effective forwards in a few seasons.
Remember, he’s only just 23 years of age!
