Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been waxing-lyrical about Mohamed Salah after he netted his 100th Premier League goal at the weekend.
Salah joined the Premier League 100 club with his goal against Leeds, achieving that feat in just 162 Premier League appearances.
The Egyptian has put himself amongst the greatest Premier League attackers of all time, and Wright has been blown away by what he’s seen from the Liverpool ace.
What’s been said?
Wright was speaking about Salah and his development since coming to Liverpool.
“We have to talk about Mo Salah, he’s an extraordinary goalscorer. I remember him at Chelsea, when Arsene Wenger had his 1000th game against Chelsea, they lost 6-0, Hazard had his way with them and Salah scored the 6th goal. He ran from the halfway line and finished it, and when he finished it I thought ‘wow’ he took it so easily,” Wright said.
“He went to Roma and did it in Rome, then he came to Liverpool and got 32 goals in 36 and I thought this guy is a goalscoring machine.”

Up there with the best
Wright calls Salah an extraordinary goalscorer, and he’s absolutely right.
The Egyptian may not reach Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals, but he’s certainly amongst the best goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen.
He has the record for goals in a 38-game season, he’s won two Golden Boots and he’s on track to win another this season.
Salah may go down as one of the best Premier League players ever, and he’s certainly one of the best signings Liverpool have ever made.
