Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has labelled Renato Sanches a ‘machine’ after the PSG midfielder posted footage of himself in training on his Instagram.

Prior to Gabriel’s move to Arsenal in 2020, the duo played alongside one another at Ligue 1 side Lille and now Sanches has since secured a transfer to the French champions, Paris Saint-Germain.

Upon returning from a minor knock, which has since seen the 25-year-old miss recent action, he is back in training and Gabriel posted the following message to his ex-teammate: “Let’s go, machine.”

ARSENAL’S TRANSFER INTEREST IN SANCHES

English fans will remember a fresh-faced Sanches donning the colours of Swansea City as a teenager when he was still on Bayern Munich’s books.

That loan spell to the Welsh side, when they were still in the Premier League, didn’t go too well for the all-action midfielder, but it hasn’t done his career any harm.

If anything, he picked himself up from that experience and he is now a thriving midfielder, who Arsenal were seemingly trying to sign in the summer, but instead, the £25 million star donned PSG’s colours.

Whilst Mikel Arteta is happy with his first-choice midfield – Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey – he was still looking for more cover, quality and competition during the summer transfer window.

Given Sanches’s ability to play as a number eight, win ground duels, and like Xhaka, drive forward, then he would have seriously upgraded the north London club’s midfield.

The Portugal international still struggles for consistency, but when he cooks, he is very brave on the ball, he will take the ball in tight situations and drive at the opposition.

But Arsenal fans won’t be too fussed about missing out on the player because they are rightfully sitting top of the Premier League table.
