Robbie Keane and Aaron Lennon were just a number of players praising Rangers striker Jermaine Defoe on Instagram for reaching 800 career appearances.
The 38-year-old topped off that feat with a goal as Rangers secured a comfortable 4-0 win against Ross County over the weekend.
From the young kid at West Ham to the player that scored five goals for Tottenham, it has been a goal-fest career from the quick-footed Englishmen.
This is the message Keane sent to his former teammate on Instagram: “Great achievement pal.”
Whilst Lennon, another player who he stood side by side with at White Hart Lane, also wrote: “Machine brother. Keep going.”
Anton Ferdinand also added: “Living legend and little but big brother.”
It’s been some journey for Defoe, who is in an elite group of players in England in the fact that he has scored over 100 Premier League goals.
More than likely, Rangers is set to be his last destination and he will be hoping he can play his part in delivering the title for the supporters at the end of the season.
Whilst some would have backed Rangers for the title this term, not many would have foreseen such a situation where they are steam-rolling ahead and their rivals aren’t even in the picture.
