Fans of Reading and Crystal Palace are reacting to reports linking Leeds United with Danny Loader.

Loader left Reading at the end of his contract last month and is now a free agent.

Crystal Palace had been tipped to land the England youth international before Porto emerged as strong contenders, with the Portuguese side said to have offered him £1 million a year in wages (The Daily Mail).

But according to the same publication, Leeds are ‘making a last-ditch move to snatch’ Loader ‘from under the noses’ of Palace and Porto.

And this is what is being said about the rumour in Reading and Crystal Palace camps.

Reading could be due a sizeable compensation pay-out if Loaders joins a rival English club – significantly more than if he moves outside the country.

Loader scored freely at youth team level, but found the net just twice in 35 games for Reading’s senior side.

Despite this, the 19-year-old is rumoured to have been coveted by several of England and Europe’s elite, while The Daily Mail reports that Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta has personally targeted him as a key summer signing.
