Tottenham Hotspur will have to spend big to bring the midfielder to the Premier League.

Tottenham have been quite simply brilliant so far this season, and considering that Mauricio Pochettino failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window, the fact that they are still in contention to win all four trophies that they are eligible for really is quite remarkable.
With this in mind, however, Pochettino would still be wise to bolster his ranks at Spurs in January.
One particular area where he will surely be looking to strengthen is his central midfield department, with Mousa Dembele’s contract set to expire in the summer and Victor Wanyama facing an uncertain future in north London.
One of Tottenham’s January target’s is Lyon ace Tanguy Ndombele, according to the Mirror, and the Frenchman really would be an exceptional addition for Poch’s side.
There is a problem, however.
The 21-year-old’s agent Duro Ivanisevic told the Express that it will cost €80 million (£72 million) to prise his client away from Lyon:
“The club is asking for €80m (£72m). Although negotiating it could be lowered and a different agreement can be reached.”

Ndombele really is a top class player, and although £72 million seems like a lot of money at first glance, in today’s market it actually represents decent value for someone so young and with so much quality.
The France international really would help take Tottenham to another level, with his dynamism and drive from he middle of the park.
With Spurs’ expensive move to their new stadium, though, £72 million might just be too rich for their blood, and Pochettino could very well be tasked with working on a shoestring budget for the next few years.
If there is a possibility of bringing Ndombele to Tottenham, however, Pochettino must do everything within his power to make it happen.
