Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League runners-up Liverpool have been linked with a shock move for £25m Manchester United flop Memphis Depay.

Lyon are willing to listen to offers for Memphis Depay, according to the Manchester Evening News, with a return to North West with Liverpool apparently on the cards.

The enigmatic Dutchman famously spent a year and a half at Manchester United during Louis Van Gaal’s time in charge but struggled badly to live up to his £25 million price tag and made a mockery of the club’s famous number seven shirt.

But Depay has started to fulfil his undoubted potential since moving to France with Lyon, even if consistency continues to allude him.

And, according to Mercato365, Liverpool have expressed an interest in what would surely be a contentious transfer with the Premier League runners-up scouting the former PSV talisman during Lyon’s 3-0 hammering of Marseille a fortnight ago.

This comes after L’Equipe reported that The Reds had identified Depay as a replacement for Sadio Mane should he be lured away from Anfield.

And Liverpool will no doubt be intrigued by reports from the MEN that Lyon are willing to sell at the right price with just two years left on his contract.
