Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Lyon ace.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas sat down for an exclusive interview with French media outlet Foot Mercato, and suggested that he will sell ‘one or two players’ this summer, and they could be a big boost to Tottenham’s hopes of signing Tanguy Ndombele.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the Frenchman (RMC Sport) over the past six months, with the player’s agent Duro Ivanisevic suggesting that his client will cost somewhere in the region of €80 million (£69 million), as quoted by the Express:
“The club is asking for €80m (£69m). Although negotiating it could be lowered and a different agreement can be reached.”
The 22-year-old is a real powerhouse of a midfielder, and he has chalked up two goals and six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for Lyon this season.
He would be an exceptional addition for Tottenham, but Daniel Levy would surely not sanction the reported fee of £69 million in order to attain his services, so a compromise will have to be reached.
The north London outfit have received a boost in regards to their pursuit of Ndombele nevertheless, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas suggesting that he will almost certainly be selling at least one of his star names this summer, during an exclusive interview with French media outlet Foot Mercato:
“We want to win titles in France now, we want to go as high as possible in the hierarchy of European clubs so we must be in good economic health, but also have talent. We will only let go this summer one or maybe two players.”
Whether Tottenham make a concrete move for the talented Frenchman in the summer, however, remains to be seen.
