Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas hands ultimatum to Liverpool target Rachid Ghezzal.

As quoted by L’Equipe, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that he will transfer list Rachid Ghezzal if the player does not sign a new contract soon.
Ghezzal was one of the undoubted stars of the French Ligue 1 last season, scoring 10 goals as well as providing 9 assists in 38 matches and his contribution went a long way in helping Lyon claim a fine second place finish in the table.
Given Ghezzal’s brilliant performances, it has been no surprise in seeing a host of clubs around Europe interested in signing the 24-year-old and reports from the Daily Express claimed that Premier League giants Liverpool were keen on the Lyon star.

Liverpool would be fairly confident of signing Ghezzal as he is set to enter the final year of his contract at The Parc Olympique Lyonnais this summer and has shown no intention whatsoever to put pen to paper on an extension.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has been left very angry with Ghezzal as a result and has seemingly encouraged Liverpool to pursue the winger by stating that the club will look to transfer list the Algerian international if he does not sign a new contract within the next week.
Aulas said in a press conference as quoted by L’Equipe, “He went on a holiday to Dubai, and was set to return late last week but he has extended his stay for a week. He has not signed the extension and he will be transfer listed if we don’t reach an agreement by next week.”
