Leeds United need to find a left back this summer – and Lyon’s Maxwel Cornet is allegedly being targeted.
Barry Douglas is being released after a season away on loan, whilst Ezgjan Alioski looks set to move on with his contract expiring.
Leeds currently have no natural left back in place for next season, and the position has to be a priority for Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa.
Leeds’ interest in signing Cornet
The Sun reported over the weekend that Leeds have picked out Lyon’s Cornet as a possible solution, though they’re not fans of the £20million asking price.
Cornet’s pace and skill are described as ‘attractive’ to Marcelo Bielsa, with the Ivorian a converted winger now playing at left back.
Cornet, 24, notched four goals and six assists in 39 games for Lyon last season, and could soon be heading to the Premier League with Leeds.

Lyon fans react to Cornet rumours
Leeds fans will be wondering what to make of Cornet, but they may not like reading these messages from Lyon fans.
Lyon supporters have taken to Twitter to suggest that they will drive Cornet to the airport themselves if Leeds are prepared to pay big money.
Some think Lyon could pull off a ‘robbery’ by selling Cornet to Leeds, believing such a deal would be ‘incredible’.
Stevy_83: Even at €20m I’ll bring him to the airport if they want! I’m going direct!
MarcEspinasse23: If he leaves for at least €20m it’s incredible
Ninosly69: €10m will be more than enough for our happiness!
MTS_Oncleben: We are the ones who give €24million… right? I may have misunderstood. I have a full tank of gasoline if you want
OL69LeGonedu81: 20 million and it’s settled! Don’t mess around!
Relyp1: If he leaves for a minimum of €15m, it’s a robbery
Foutoirs_eb: €23m?! I’ll drop him off at the airport myself!
Czqueret: take him for free
