Rangers were linked with a whole host of striker this summer, and Lyndon Dykes was one of the main names suggested.
The Gers needed to find at least one new hitman following Florian Kamberi’s return to Hibernian, whilst Alfredo Morelos could yet move on and Jermain Defoe is injured.
In the end, Rangers signed two strikers in one day as Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten joined from Anderlecht and St Gallen respectively.
Steven Gerrard will now be happy with his strikeforce, and he may not have been too gutted to see Dykes head to Queens Park Rangers.
Back in May, The Scottish Sun reported that Dykes was a top target for Gerrard, having impressed with 12 goals and 10 assists for Livingston last season.
The Daily Record offered an update in July, stating that Rangers did want Dykes but were put off by the £2million asking price on his head.

The 24-year-old Australian has instead signed for QPR, joining up with ex-Rangers boss Mark Warburton as he heads down to England.
Now, Dykes has answered ‘no’ when asked if he thought he would be signing for Rangers, claiming he didn’t dye his hair blue because of the Gers – and is ‘over the moon’ to be at QPR instead.
“No. There wasn’t any point I was thinking about signing anywhere,” said Dykes. “I was just focused on being a Livingston player and whatever happened, happened. The QPR thing came up and I was over the moon that it did,” he added.
