Queens Park Rangers produced their finest performance of the season so far on Tuesday night, brushing past Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 with centre-back Joel Lynch praising his teammates for the display.

The R’s were rarely troubled, and goals from Tomer Hemed, Luke Freeman and Nahki Wells made sure the points stayed in west London, with Rangers keeping their sixth clean sheet of the campaign in the process.

“We’ve turned a corner, its massive for us,” Lynch told QPR’s official page in reference to another fine defensive display.

“It’s all come from hard work though, we’ve put in a lot on the training ground in terms of defensive sessions and it’s really paying off at the moment.

“I think everyone’s effort has been brilliant and that has made mine and Toni’s (Leistner) job at the back easy.

QPR welcome Aston Villa to Loftus Road on Friday evening, with Lynch declaring that confidence is sky-high around W12 at the moment, and a possible victory over Dean Smith’s side should come as no surprise.

Friday night’s encounter will perhaps be Rangers’ toughest test yet on home soil and, although the Villans are struggling slightly, they have plenty of talent in their ranks to hurt Steve McClaren’s side.

The R’s manager had endured a torrid start to his career at Loftus Road, losing his opening four matches, but since then Rangers have looked a completely different outfit and Lynch and Co. will be doing everything in their power to keep QPR’s fine run continuing.
