Charlton Athletic striker Lyle Taylor has mocked a Sunderland fan on Twitter, after their tweet to him earlier this season.

The Sunderland Echo reported how Taylor almost moved to Sunderland last summer, but he opted to pick Charlton.

At the time his move went through, some Sunderland fans had given Taylor stick on Twitter for not choosing to switch to the Stadium of Light.

And Taylor had not forgotten what Sunderland supporters had been tweeting him at the start of the season, following the play off final, where Charlton beat the Black Cats 2-1.

Sunderland could have done with Taylor this season, as he has enjoyed a brilliant campaign.

The powerful forward hit 21 League One goals and finished as finished the campaign as the Addicks’ top scorer.

Sunderland’s defeat at Wembley could hardly have come in more heartbreaking circumstances, as they were beaten by a last minute winner.

Jack Ross’ side will now have to attempt to earn promotion from League One again next season, after missing out on an immediate return to the Championship.
