Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has been discussing Championship interest in his players today.

HITC Sport reported yesterday that Leeds had made a bid for Luton star Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu. It has also recently been suggested that Brentford might be interested in a move for Cameron McGeehan.

Speaking about both deals the League Two side’s boss made it clear that Ruddock would not be going to Leeds, and nobody looked likely to exit Kenilworth Road, before the 11pm deadline tonight.

He is quoted by Luton-Dunstable as stating:

“It’s not 100 per cent correct, that, but we’ve had enquiries for a number of our players.

“We have a fantastic board here and the chief exec, Gary [Sweet], has been outstanding and we won’t be losing any players in the transfer window.

“Come 11 o’clock I envisage us to be in a stronger position than we are now.”

HITC Sport recently reported that Ruddock had caught the eye of Leeds boss Garry Monk in the EFL Cup tie between the two sides earlier in the season.

The move from Leeds came as a surprise, considering the club already have plenty of options in the central midfield positions.

It now seems that Leeds might be on the verge of signing Eunan O’Kane from Bournemouth, leaving any interest in Ruddock null and void.

But the midfielder is just 23-years-old and he might be a player that Leeds could look to bring in at some point in the future.
