Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in the Manchester United defender.

According to The Sun, Barcelona are set to make an attempt to sign Luke Shaw on loan, but he would be far better off picking Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

Spurs are said to have an interest in Shaw by the Daily Mail, with the England international looking set to leave Old Trafford.

The left-back has had a tumultuous relationship with Jose Mourinho, and seems to have fallen out of favour again.

Barca are now believed to be interested in the 22-year-old, who needs to revive his career, which has stalled ever since his £31 million move to United back in 2014.

However, Shaw would be better off picking Tottenham rather than moving to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona already have Jordi Alba at left-back, and spending a year in Spain is unlikely to transform his career.

A move to Tottenham could do just that for the former Southampton man though.

Shaw and Pochettino linked up with the Saints earlier in their respective careers, and the Argentine boss has already proven he can get the very best out of the defender.

And, although Ben Davies has enjoyed an excellent season, breaking into Spurs’ team is hardly an impossibility for someone of Shaw’s quality.

Shaw should, therefore, ignore any temptation to move to Barca and pick Tottenham, if the opportunity does arise this summer.
