Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Manchester United’s Luke Shaw over a number of years.

According to a report in the Guardian, Luke Shaw could leave Manchester United on a free transfer in 2019, and that will surely make him an even more appealing target to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mail have linked Shaw with Spurs tentatively, but it may be that no action is taken on the left-back this summer.

Spurs would have to pay a fee to sign Shaw off United this summer, but if they hold off for a year they could take him for free.

Shaw is reportedly considering leaving Old Trafford next year, when his contract expires.

And if he was available on a free transfer, then Spurs would surely be in the race for the left-back.

Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Shaw, having worked with the youngster at Southampton, and there would surely not be a better value-for-money deal on the market next summer, than getting the United man on a free.

Shaw could add competition for places at left-back for Spurs, and with Danny Rose’s future still uncertain, he looks like a natural replacement for the 27-year-old Tottenham man.

And with Levy loving a bargain deal, Shaw could fit right into that category – even though it could mean Spurs have to wait another year before they get their man.
