After finally leaving Leeds, Luke Murphy is no better off at Bolton.

Luke Murphy’s Bolton Wanderers host Leeds United this weekend, but don’t expect the former Whites captain to feature.
Murphy was released by Leeds in the summer a year early, after it looked like the Whites might have to send him out on loan for a third successive season.
Once a mainstay of the Leeds side, from 2016 onwards Murphy was sent out on successive loans to Burton Albion.
No club were willing to match Murphy’s wages or give Leeds a fee, and the club decided simply to pay him off a year early.
Murphy signed with Bolton Wanderers and went straight into their side.
After making four appearances in August, he has not figured since.
Murphy has only made the bench once, in mid-November, and has been playing for Bolton’s under-23 side.

This is a depressing recurrence of the start of the 2016/17 season at Leeds, where Garry Monk sent him to play for the under-23s, before he was loaned to Burton in the January.
Bolton sit down in 23rd and Leeds will fancy their chances this weekend.
This would have been an ideal chance for Murphy to prove a point to Leeds. It’s unlikely he will play any part.
