The English midfielder has gone out on loan to Burton Albion on loan for the rest of the season.
Leeds United have loaned out their midfielder Luke Murphy to Burton Albion this afternoon, after he fell out of favour at Elland Road under Garry Monk.
Leeds United confirmed earlier today that he has made the move to Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.
Murphy himself is clearly very happy with the move. Speaking to the Burton Albion website he admitted he has been frustrated at Leeds this season, but that he understood that was the way football sometimes works:
“With the manager that’s here I’ve always wanted to try and play for him and hopefully I can help the team do well and finish the season good.

“This season has been very frustrating for me personally, I wasn’t in the plans at Leeds and that’s fine, that’s how football works but as I said as soon as the opportunity came to come here I wanted to take it with both hands and help them finish as high as possible in this league.
“The club itself and the manager that’s here and also the players that are here I felt that it was a perfect fit for me at this time in my career.”
This season the 27-year-old has dropped out of the first-team under Garry Monk. The emergence of young players such as Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips saw him drop down the pecking order. Meanwhile, the new signings of Eunan O’Kane and Liam Bridcutt, also did not help matters for Murphy.

Murphy will now get a chance to play regular football yet again in the Championship with Burton and under the management of Nigel Clough.
It seems his time at Elland Road is coming to an end but Leeds fans will no doubt always feel he gave his all for the club.
