Luke Garbutt has struggled at Everton and a move to Queens Park Rangers could be the perfect switch to revive his career.
Luke Garbutt has not figured for Everton since 2015 and would make a sensible replacement for Jack Robinson, who left Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old left-back has endured a difficult time on Merseyside and is expected to leave Goodison Park over the summer, and Steve McClaren should be casting an eye over Garbutt’s situation.
The QPR manager took charge of pre-season training for the first time on Monday and will certainly have noticed the alarming absence of defenders. Robinson, who followed the likes of James Perch and Nedum Onouha out the door at Loftus Road, decided to move on after an injury-hit four-year stay.

Garbutt, who is valued at £1 million according to TransferMarkt, would likely be afforded by the west Londoners but a season-long loan could also provide another viable option for McClaren.
The former Newcastle and Derby manager has not drafted in any new recruits to date and a potential move for Garbutt would certainly give QPR fans more confidence as the new season edges ever nearer.
The former Leeds United graduate arrived at Everton with high expectations, but a number of loan spells to lower league clubs became Garbutt’s reality and now could be the time to focus on a new venture.
With Garbutt’s best years ahead of him, new surroundings and a new direction under the guidance of McClaren could be the recipe for a very shrewd bit of business for QPR.
Any deal will suit both parties and Garbutt can really focus on getting back to his best and getting plenty of minutes under his belt.
