Everton are preparing for Wednesday’s clash with Leicester City, with Carlo Ancelotti no doubt hoping for a second win in a row having beaten Norwich City last week.
Ancelotti was speaking to the press earlier today ahead of the game, and one clip has gone viral as the Italian was asked about left back Luke Garbutt.
Garbutt’s Everton contract ends today after 11 years at the club, and one reporter asked Ancelotti for a comment about the former Leeds man’s exit.
However, Ancelotti responded with ‘who?’ when asked about Garbutt, and seemed completely confused by the mere mention of the defender at Everton, as quoted by The Mirror.
In Ancelotti’s defence, Garbutt has been out on loan at Ipswich Town throughout Ancelotti’s time as Everton boss, so has never coached him or considered him for selection.

It’s been clear for some time that the 27-year-old has no future at Everton, but that was very much made clear by Ancelotti not even knowing who he is.
Garbutt has offered a tongue-in-cheek response on Twitter, posting a video of his highlights at Ipswich to show Ancelotti and Everton what they’re missing as the left back took the situation well.
