Everton defender Luke Garbutt’s career has stalled in recent times.

Luke Garbutt has expressed his delight at returning to action for Everton on social media website Twitter.
Garbutt finally made his return to the Everton under-23 fold yesterday, as he started for the Toffees in their 1-0 victory over Derby County yesterday.
Garbutt was once considered one of the most exciting talents in Everton’s youth academy, but his career has stalled in recent times.

Ronald Koeman appears to prefer other options, and Garbutt’s succession of injury problems have halted his progress.
However, Toffees fans are still excited about the 24-year-old prospect’s future.
And they have suggested that Garbutt still has a chance to make a success of his time at Goodison Park.
If Garbutt is to break into Everton’s first-team, he will have to knock Leighton Baines out of Koeman’s starting line-up.
Everton’s next match comes against Sunderland in the League Cup tomorrow evening, and it remains to be seen how seriously Koeman will be taking the competition.
