The 2025 Ryder Cup teams are set, and The Golfing Gazette shows who will be representing Europe at Bethpage Black.
In 2023, Luke Donald’s side delivered a commanding win at Marco Simone, but they head into the next contest as underdogs once again.
Winning the Ryder Cup away from home presents a unique challenge, one not achieved since the memorable Miracle at Medinah in 2012.
But Donald will be pleased to have plenty of experience and quality in his squad to attempt it, relying on players such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and others revealed in today’s announcement.
Europe’s 2025 Ryder Cup squad have been finalised

Of the six automatic qualifiers for the European team, five were part of the victorious 2023 team: Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and Tyrrell Hatton.
McIlroy’s spot was secured early, and after the St Jude Championship last month, Donald confirmed that Rose and Fleetwood had also made the cut.
MacIntyre and Hatton followed soon after, earning their places following strong showings at the BMW Championship and LIV Golf Indianapolis.

| 5 | Rasmus Hojgaard (Denmark) | 1283.56 |
| 6 | Tyrrell Hatton (England) | 1279.33 |
The final automatic spot went to Rasmus Hojgaard, who edged out Shane Lowry thanks to his top-15 finish at the Betfred British Masters.
That left Donald with six picks to fill out his 12-man squad for Bethpage Black.
Donald’s task was not too complicated this time around. The choices were fairly clear-cut based on form and recent performances.

The captain’s picks followed suit, with Shane Lowry, Sepp Straka, Ludvig Aberg, Viktor Hovland and Matt Fitzpatrick all next in line in the qualification standings.
Jon Rahm also joined them after winning the LIV Golf Individual Championship, despite being far from the automatic spots.
