Speaking on LUTV, Luke Ayling has been full of praise for his Leeds teammate Kalvin Phillips after his performances at Euro 2020.
Phillips has undoubtedly been one of the best players at the Euros so far, playing a key role for England on their way to the semi-finals.
The Yorkshire Pirlo has taken a number of fans by surprise, but one man who hasn’t been shocked by his performances is Ayling.
What’s been said?
Ayling says that he’s not been shocked by Phillips’ starring role at the Euros, claiming that he’s been outstanding for England.
“No I didn’t, I think every Leeds fan knew how good Kalvin would be this summer and I’m just pleased for him that he’s shown the country and he’s shown the whole world how good he is because he’s been outstanding, and there’s not a nicer person that it could happen to, so the boys are all buzzing for him,” Ayling said.

So good
Phillips may have announced himself to the world this summer, but he announced himself to Leeds supporters years ago.
The midfielder has been one of England’s best midfielders for the past 12 months, and even when he was in the Championship you could tell that this was a player headed for the very top.
Somehow, the wider footballing world hadn’t woken up to Phillips’ brilliance, but there’s no way anyone can ignore his talents after his showings at the Euros this summer.
