Leeds United played out a 0-0 home draw with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon in a game that will have frustrated manager Garry Monk.
The Whites were looking to bounce back from the disappointing end to Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham, with Tom Cairney curling home a last-gasp equaliser for the hosts.
Back at Elland Road after their trip to Craven Cottage, Leeds were hoping to get back to winning ways against Ian Holloway’s QPR – but they were left frustrated.
Leeds couldn’t find the net against the R’s, with top goalscorer Chris Wood starved of quality service in attack, and QPR did carve out chances of their own as Conor Washington squandered two great openings.
The Whites had to settle for a draw, and whilst Fulham closed the gap by beating Newcastle United on Saturday, defeats for Reading and Sheffield Wednesday mean that Monk’s side remain fourth in the table.
After the final whistle, a number of Leeds players took to Twitter to send messages to supporters, with defender Luke Ayling admitting that it was a difficult result against a side who came to frustrate Monk’s men.

Midfielder Eunan O’Kane added that it wasn’t the result that Leeds wanted, but thanked fans for their support, whilst winger Kemar Roofe noted that the disappointing result is just more motivation to improve in the final weeks of the season.
January signing Alfonso Pedraza also sent a message stating that he was happy to keep fighting for a point, and also thanked supporters.
