Tottenham need Amos to be a success, as it will ease the pressure on the board after a quiet transfer window.
It will also address concerns that chances are no longer being given to young players.
Talented duo Keanen Bennetts and Reo Griffiths quit the club to try their luck abroad this summer, and Marcus Edwards also appears to have little chance of a breakthrough.
Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah also appear to have no clear path to the first team.
Amos’ emergence can redress this, especially if he can follow Ryan Mason’s path as a late bloomer who becomes a first team regular.
There is a lot at stake for both Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy with regard to Tottenham’s strategy that is tied into Amos’ success, and this could play into the youngster’s favour.
