Tottenham’s Luke Amos in action
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luke Amos has been discussing his hopes of making it into the Tottenham first-team in the years to come.
The 20-year-old spent time with the Spurs first-team during pre-season and was on the bench in the EFL Cup tie v Liverpool earlier this season.
Now he has been sent out on loan to League One side Southend United, where he recently made his professional debut against Walsall.
Now the talented utility player has his eyes firmly set on one day making the grade in the Spurs first-team.
He told the Tottenham Hotspur official website:
“It’s definitely a step forward to come here. It was unbelievable to be part of the first team (at Spurs) in pre-season, that was the first stepping stone, then the next part is growing up and that’s something that I’ve been able to do a little bit more coming out to Southend.
“The next step is obviously to play more games and long-term, the dream is to play in the first team at Spurs.”

The Spurs talent is extremely versatile and has played at both left and right full-back in the past. But his preferred position is as a holding midfield player and it is here he will be hoping to make his mark with Southend United and in the future.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is never afraid to give younger players a chance in the first-team and perhaps Amos could be the next one to come through the ranks successfully at White Hart Lane.
