West Ham United have lost three consecutive games in all competitions.
West Ham stopper Lukasz Fabianski spoke exclusively to the club’s official website in the aftermath of his side’s woeful display against Wolves last night, and offered a tremendously frustrating explanation as to why his team have struggled since beating Arsenal earlier this month.
The Hammers now sit in 11th spot in the Premier League table, having lost three games in a row in all competitions, and they are four points adrift of seventh placed Wolves.
West Ham will need to buck put heir ideas very quickly, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of earning a Europa League berth this season.
The very least that Manuel Pellegrini’s side should be doing is preparing for every game with the mindset that they will have to be 100 per cent on their game in order to win.
That is something that hasn’t been the case recently, according to Fabianski.
The 33-year-old spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and criticised his team’s mentality:
“Since the Arsenal game, something happened to us. I think it’s a mental part of the game where maybe we feel that everything is going to be fine and we’ll have a nice run until the end of the season. I think the reality is, if you feel like that, then you’re going to get punished. That’s what has happened in recent weeks and we need to start being more focused on what we are doing during the training sessions and during the games.”
Whilst you can’t fault the goalkeeper’s honesty, it will be tremendously difficult for West Ham fans to accept his explanation for their poor recent run of form.
The London Stadium faithful will be expecting a big reaction from their side, but things don’t get any easier, with a visit from league leaders Liverpool next up on the agenda.
