West Ham United were left gutted on Sunday afternoon as they couldn’t hang on to beat Arsenal at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were lethal in the first half, with Jesse Lingard, Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek putting them 3-0 up.
However, Soucek’s own goal gave Arsenal hope, with Craig Dawson then putting through his own net too, bringing the Gunners right back into the game.
Alexandre Lacazette then buried a header to secure a point for Arsenal, meaning West Ham had squandered a 3-0 lead.
That does somewhat dent West Ham’s European hopes, and Hammers fans are gutted that David Moyes’ side couldn’t hang on.
Lukasz Fabianski – West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper and former Arsenal man – has now taken to Twitter to offer his reaction to the disappointing second half.
Fabianski offered just seven words on the game, stating that the result was disappointing, but West Ham will keep fighting.
The Hammers now have the international break to reflect on the defeat and attempt to fight back, with Wolverhampton Wanderers next up.
