Speaking to West Ham’s official YouTube channel, Lukasz Fabianski has attributed West Ham’s improved form to a change in system implemented by David Moyes.

Moyes has switched West Ham to a 3-4-3 formation in recent weeks, and a look at their results when using that formation shows that Fabianski is spot on with his view.

The Hammers have lost just two games this season while using the 3-4-3, and those were two tightly contested games against top sides in the shape of Arsenal and Liverpool.

“I believe, from the moment we changed the system. I think it helped us a lot, because we became a lot more solid defensively.

“And in this system as well we managed to for some reason to be more fluent going forward. I think this system suits us.

“I think we have a lot of good players who can play in this system, so I think it has worked for us, and I would say that is a bit of a change from the previous spell where we struggled.

West Ham certainly struggled last season, spending the majority of the campaign locked in a relegation battle, but under Moyes, this term, they’ve left any danger of being relegated behind them.

The London club sit eighth in the Premier League after nine games, and their tally of 14 points so far this term has left them 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

David Moyes has got a lot of stick over the years from fans of almost every club, but you have to say he’s done an exceptional job at West Ham and implementing this new system has been an absolute masterstroke.
