The West Ham United goalkeeper has proven to be an excellent acquisition for the east London outfit.
West Ham ace Lukasz Fabianski spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and admitted that it was a ‘cool moment’ for him when he heard the Hammers fans sing his name during their draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The 33-year-old joined West Ham from Swansea City in the summer for around £7 million, and he has gone on to be a real hit at the London Stadium, making a Premier League high 101 saves in 26 appearances thus far.
The Hammers have struggled somewhat this season, with inconsistency plaguing their hopes of finishing inside the top seven, but Fabianski has been one regular shining light for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The Polish stopper spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared words of appreciation for the West Ham fans continued support this season:
“That was a cool moment to hear the fans sing my name. It wasn’t the first time, but it was the first time they were singing it that loud, so I could really hear it. That was something special and I really appreciate their appreciation of me and the way I’ve performed for the club.”
West Ham will be desperate to finish inside the top seven this season, and if they are to have any chance of doing just that, they will need Fabianski to continue his fine form between now and May.
The former Arsenal stopper has been exceptional this season, and it could be argued that he has actually been the Premier League’s best signing from last summer.
And Pellegrini will be surely be ecstatic with Fabianski’s displays this term.
