Lukas Podolski was one of Arsenal’s most popular players during his stint at the club – helped by his frequent goading of rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Even after he has long departed from the Gunners, Podolski is continuing.

Podolski sent a tweet out after Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Tottenham in the Champions League in midweek.

He directed it towards Lionel Messi, congratulating him on his goals in the win.

Podolski is currently playing his football in Japan for Vissel Kobe. The German international left Arsenal in 2015.

Barcelona’s win condemned Tottenham to a second straight defeat in the Champions League and they could end up dropping into the Europa League.

A Tottenham v Arsenal final in the competition would really give Podolski something to talk about.
