Arsenal fans all over the world will be waking up on Monday morning with smiles on their faces after a derby day victory.

The Gunners lost twice to Tottenham Hotspur in 2020, meaning Mikel Arteta was still awaiting his first victory over Spurs as a manager.

When Erik Lamela pulled off a ridiculous rabona to open the scoring for Spurs, some would have been forgiven for fearing the worst.

Arsenal rallied though, with Martin Odegaard equalising for his second goal in a matter of days before Alexandre Lacaztete won the game from the penalty spot.

Fans will be delighted with the win, and Arsenal players past and present will have gone to sleep on Sunday night with pride at such a big win.

One ex-Gunner took to Twitter on Sunday night to celebrate with just three words, as Lukas Podolski tweeted ‘London is Red’.

The German posted some of his favourite photos from his time at Arsenal and against Tottenham, leaving fans in no doubt that he keeps up with how his former club is faring.

The 35-year-old is now with Antalyaspor over in Turkey, but took the time to celebrate Sunday’s win with a strong message of support for Arsenal.
