Lukas Podolski has posted on Twitter ‘London is Red’ after Arsenal beat Chelsea 4-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

After suffering three defeats on the bounce, including becoming goal-shy in front of goal, Mikel Arteta’s side turned it up at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal kept hitting their London rivals with blow after blow, before Bukayo Saka put the cherry on the cake by putting away his penalty to seal a 4-2 win in stoppage time.

That bright red cherry sparkles at the top of the cake for now and sends a signal to the rest of London, mainly Tottenham and West Ham.

Spurs are the ones sitting fourth in the table – now level on points with the Gunners – as this race to secure Champions League football hots up.

This is what Podolski posted about Arsenal’s win yesterday, as fans will love his comments.

Historically, London has been Red because history tells you that Arsenal are the biggest club in the capital.

But, for many years now, they haven’t had much to shout about, although, they have shown promising signs under Arteta.

This young and ever-improving squad stood tall on the backdrop of criticism last night, especially someone like Eddie Nketiah.

The Hale-End academy product had zero Premier League goals to his name this term, then pops up with a brace at the Bridge.

Now it’s a case of continuing to surge forward during the final few weeks of the season.
