Celtic are in a difficult spot right now, having lost to Rangers and AC Milan before drawing 3-3 with Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon.

Neil Lennon finds himself under pressure, and needs to turn things around if he is to keep his job and ultimately stop Rangers from ruining the push for 10 titles in a row.

Some may point towards the club’s summer transfer business as an issue, with Albian Ajeti still seeking his best form and Patryk Klimala yet to step up as a consistent goalscorer.

Leigh Griffiths still isn’t starting, whilst Odsonne Edouard remains out, so striking options have been a source of frustration of late, so much so that that winger Mohamed Elyonuoussi started up front against Rangers.

What may sting is that one of Celtic’s summer targets is currently in great form, as Lukas Nmecha has really hit the ground running with Belgian side Anderlecht.

The Daily Mail reported in August that Celtic were considering a loan deal for Manchester City attacker Nmecha, but he ended up joining Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht.

After hit-and-miss spells at Preston North End, Wolfsburg and Middlesbrough, Nmecha is now showing his quality, as his brace against Kortrijk over the weekend took him to four goals in his first seven league games for Anderlecht.

The 21-year-old finally appears to be fulfilling some of his potential, with Tribal Football quoting Kompany as saying that Nmecha is a ‘complete striker’ and a ‘top talent’.

Celtic may now feel they’ve missed out on Nmecha, but he is at least only on loan; if he continues to shine in Belgium, maybe he’s a player for the Bhoys to look at again in 2021.
