Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told The Guardian that signing Romelu Lukaku was a smart business from Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
Lukaku will line up for Chelsea in the Premier League game against Liverpool away from home at Anfield this evening.
The Belgium international striker scored on his ‘second’ debut for Chelsea against Arsenal in the London derby last weekend.
The former Manchester United and Everton striker will be a big threat for Chelsea against Liverpool today.
Ahead of the match, Liverpool manager Klopp has praised 28-year-old Lukaku, and believes that Chelsea signed the striker to solve their goalscoring problems.
Klopp told The Guardian: “Last year people very often spoke about Chelsea playing really well but didn’t finish enough situations off, and that was obviously the idea behind signing Romelu. Smart business.”

Big signing for Chelsea
Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world, and his two years at Inter Milan have made him better and more compete.
Chelsea paid Inter £97.5 million to re-sign the striker this summer.
The 28-year-old scored 24 goals and gave 11 assists in Serie A last season, and scored 23 goals and gave two assists in the league in 2019-20.

Lukaku has scored 114 goals in 253 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 28-year-old Belgium international striker has made Chelsea one of the main challengers for the Premier League title this season, and Klopp’s aforementioned comments show that the Liverpool manager knows that.
