Luka Jovic’s reported Barcelona switch should encourage Justin Lonwijk to snub Leeds United

Leeds United reportedly want to lure PSV starlet Lonwijk to the Championship but Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt are keen too.

Justin Lonwijk will have a choice to make this summer.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the 19-year-old is set to leave PSV Eindhoven this summer when his contract expires and there is no shortage of interest all across the continent.

Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to bring the teenager to Italy or Germany respectively while Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United will reportedly offer Lonwijk the chance to prove himself at Elland Road too.

But who should Lonwijk pick? Well, considering that Bielsa is one of the most influential managers in world football, a coach renowned for giving young players a route to the top, joining Leeds should be tempting – especially if they are promoted to the Premier League.

Though Frankfurt could be rather difficult rivals. Adi Hutter’s side are flying in the Bundesliga and recently beat Inter Milan to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League. And Lonwijk should be fully aware that so many little-known youngsters have arrived at the Commerzbank Arena in recent transfer windows before becoming some of Europe’s most sought-after talents.

Think French target man Sebastian Haller, Croatian World Cup hero Ante Rebic and the so-called ‘Serbian Falcao’ Jovic. An inspired signing from Benfica, Jovic (below) is closing in on a £52 million move to Barcelona (Goal).

And the prospect of following in their footsteps will surely appeal to Lonwijk – perhaps even more so than Leeds.
