Frankfurter Rundschau reported just days ago that Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic rejected an approach to sign for West Ham, and has now instead signed for Eintracht Frankfurt again.
The Serbian cost Real Madrid £53million in 2019 after starring at Frankfurt, ironically in a superb partnership alongside Sebastien Haller.
Jovic struggled with Real, so chose to head back to Frankfurt on loan for the rest of the season in an effort to rediscover his goalscoring touch.
Well, so far, so good; Jovic came on for just 28 minutes of Sunday’s 3-1 win over Schalke, and managed to immediately score twice in a superb return to his former club.
Few could really blame West Ham for being gutted; Jovic has already shown what a threat he is, and will have to hope that whoever they manage to sign has a similarly instant impact in East London.
