Luka Doncic continues to battle left groin soreness but showed his determination after the Los Angeles Lakers’ 110–93 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Doncic’s health has been a focal point for the Lakers this season, and his latest comments after the Raptors game highlighted his willingness to play through pain as Los Angeles pushes toward the postseason.
The Lakers have leaned on Doncic as their franchise cornerstone since acquiring him in a blockbuster February 2025 trade from the Dallas Mavericks, and his commitment to competing even when not at full strength has been a rallying point for the team and its fans.

Luka Doncic shares honest health update
Speaking after the Lakers’ 110–93 victory over the Raptors, Doncic said: “It’s okay. I’ll bear it [pain]. [It impacts] maybe a little bit, obviously I’ll try to play through it.”
The Slovenian guard has been dealing with groin soreness that has limited his preparation and mobility at times.
Despite the discomfort, he continued to lead the Lakers on both ends of the floor in a hard-fought game against Toronto.
Doncic’s ability to stay aggressive offensively while managing physical limitations reflects both his resilience and importance to the Lakers’ offense as they aim to solidify their positioning in the Western Conference.
LeBron James and Deandre Ayton helped the LA Lakers secure victory against the Toronto Raptors
Although Doncic had 25 points to his name, he shot just 8-23 from the field, which was a clear indicator of his fitness.
However, thanks to the combined efforts of LeBron James and Deandre Ayton, the Lakers managed to snap their losing streak.
After all, James had 24 points while Ayton contributed 25 points on a perfect 10-of-10 shooting night. Of course, the Lakers still need Doncic, but it’s great to see his teammates lighten his burden a bit.
The Lakers are now 25-16 for the season as they continue to search for a winning-streak to regain a top-four spot in the Western Conference.
